Philosophy of care.
At Oakhurst Court our philosophy is to provide a family friendly ‘home from home’ atmosphere and to treat each and every individual with respect, dignity and complete understanding.
This starts before a new resident arrives, when Matron or her deputy visits the prospective resident to complete an assessment to ensure we are the right place to care for the individuals needs. From admission, when our welfare support worker will help settle our new resident in and along with all the staff ensure they are made to feel welcome. During our residents stay with us, we welcome and actively encourage family and friends to visit at any time, and even join us for Sunday lunch or afternoon tea.
We take huge pride when the times comes, for caring for our residents through their last days, following the Liverpool Care Pathway and in liaison with the palliative care team, making those times as comfortable and peaceful as possible for them and their families. It is a special time for us in the caring process.
